At Gold Art Planet our mission is to preserve the beauty of Mother Nature and her geological treasure, natural gold nuggets. Gold has fascinated humans since it was first discovered. Its unique qualities have inspired and beguiled. Its uses range from the ornamental to the scientific. Many of the technolgical advances we enjoy would not be possible without gold but that is not what Gold Art Planet is about. We want to share the history and the beauty of gold nugget specimens as an art form to be studied and enjoyed for their marvelous and intricate beauty. Natural Gold Nugget History -Planet Earth has been on its incredible journey of change for billions of years. Gold has been deposited throughout the world as the actions of geologic processes have worked their magic. Gold has been melted, crystalized, raised by uplifting mountains and eroded by ancient and modern rivers. The allure of gold is due partly to its ellusiveness and its unique qualities.

In the United States over 22,000 tons of gold have been recovered and there is an estimated 14,000 tons hidden and waiting to be discovered. The U.S. Geolgical Survey estimates that California has 2,100 tons of undiscovered gold resources.

The Gold Art Planet team searches for and recovers gold that has been deposited in the rivers and streams of California in much the same way as the Forty Niners did 160 years ago.

There is still gold in "them thar hills!" We find and bring it to you in its unaltered natural form. We present it as we find it, shaped by Mother Nature over millions of years and hidden by her in her rivers and streams.
